History
Steeped in history
NSRC has been around since 1909 - the club has developed into one of the pre-eminent squash clubs in the UK. Our trophy boards around the club trace back from early beginnings. We are proud of our history!
Summer is coming (apparently) and so are our Summer Leagues....

In the last couple of weeks the club has seen some of the best talent in the world grace our courts. In the space of three days we saw World No.2 ranked Nick Matthew play in the PSA for Duffield against MB Nottingham – where Matthew won his match but MBN took the match in a thrilling night – against the odds. Then days later we got a chance to see the incredible skills of WR No.6 Mohamed El Shorbagy playing our very own Eddie Charlton. Shorbagy won the match in front of a crowd as big as we have ever seen at the club. It was great to see world class players at the club – and play of this standard!
One of the big events of the squash calendar is the Nottingham Open Doubles - held this year on the first Saturday in February.
65 teams entered five events - which took up 8 courts! It was a great spectacle - some hard fought matches went to the wire.
The 2013 Winners were:
A – Mark Fuller and Eddie Charlton (NSRC)
B – George Stafford and Phil Roberts (Loughborough Uni)
C – Tim Steel and Anthony Baines (Stillington)
D – Tim Garratt and Jak Garratt (NSRC)
M – Hannah Carey and Jon Underhill (David Lloyd Aspley)
The day concluded with some fine Indian cuisine and live music from 'The Riffs'.
The event goes from strength to strength - thanks to everyone who took part - we hope to see you all again next year.
Finally, a huge thanks to the event / prize sponsors -
Harrow – Simon Scott of Kentbridge Sports
FantasySquash – Mark Fuller
TonySquash – Tony Gay
